I guess we'll chock it up to previous inebriation and reaching the point where solid, but average wines become "So GOOD!" But the major upside of this meeting was revisiting the $6 budget wines and finding that the ones we tasted were...actually....so GOOD! Great for entertaining a crowd at the holidays without breaking the bank.
Oh, and by the way, has anyone seen my shovel? I lent it to Lance after he broke his......

Red Knot Shiraz, McLaren Vale Australia - 2006 This wine has some tannins and is short to medium on the palette. Chris loved this wine; Corrin, not so much. The overall agreement, however that this wine truly deserved to be on the Favorites list.
Di Majo Norante Sangiovese, Spain - 2006 This was a peppery wine from the nose to the taste, but very smooth and no tannins to speak of. Overall vibe: Average to Above Average
$6.00
Protocolo Red Wine blend, Spain - 2006 A great wine from the favorites list - well deserved. Easy to drink with nice flavors. A group favorite.
Tiziano Chianti, Italy - 2006 - Really liked by most, it is relatively dry with mild tannins.
Fish Eye Merlot, California - 2006 - A very solid wine, smooth without tannins. It is a bit sweet which is why it was Corrin's favorite. Melissa F. dug it too which makes it a real winner for the price....check for this one in the domestic 1.5 liter area of your local liquor store and please the crowd at Thanksgiving or Christmas.
