Guten Tag! There was a party in my stomach and I don't think it was the sauerkraut....In fact, I'm sure it was the tequila. OK, so it was a Mexi-Greek-German night and no one was complaining. Check out the YouTube link to give you an idea of what I mean....(thanks, Molly!)
I've really only thought of Germany in terms of beer so it was a nice surprise to see that the two German white wines we tasted were very, very good. Refreshing and crisp, they would make a surprising and delicious pairing with fish, salads, poultry and light pastas. The overall crowd favorite, however, was the Spanish wine. It was a medium-bodied red with lots of depth and everyone enjoyed this one. All the other liquid elements of the "party" are listed also:
$12.00 Wines
Blue Fish - Pinot Grigio, Germany - 2005 (crisp, clean finish - very good)
Panarroz Jumilla - red wine blend, Spain - 2006 (excellent, the favorite of the night)
Sun Garden, Reisling, Germany - 2007 (sweet but not too sweet, a nice balance)
$6.00 Wines
Glen Ellen, Shiraz - 2006
Other
Ouzo, Athenee, Greece (black licorice flavor)
Tequila, Agavero, 100% Agavo (This was too good, for tequila, a real troublemaker)
L.Gallardo...........that was all I wrote down. Sorry. :)
