May was another very fun and tasty wine club meeting! We had a more intimate group this time which made for some very entertaining and interesting story-telling. My cheeks are still sore from laughing so hard! We are so thankful for the time we get to spend - thanks to the other four of you who made that night such a blast!
The concensus was that all of the wines we tasted were delicious and worthy of another purchase; and that the tasting order really suited the wines themselves. Here is the breakdown of the wine we drank...and the name of the amazing Irish liqueur that Molly & Rob introduced to us. It was soooo good!
Under $12
Palladio, Chianti - 2005 (very smooth, easy to drink, no tannins to speak of)
Brancasi, Rosso del Salento - 2005 (very drinkable, great table wine for a variety of foods)
Di Majo Norante, Sangiovese - 2006 (dry, some tannins, more depth than the prior two)
Under $6
Bohemian Highway, California Merlot - 2005 (a crowd pleaser at $5, yummy, easy to drink)
Stella, Montepulciano D'Abruzzo, Italy - 2006 (nice, clean finish, really enjoyable)
Via Firenze, Chianti - 2005 (a little spicy and delicious, a great wine to end the night)
Other
Sheridan's Original, Coffee-layered Liqueur: The two ingredients are separated by the bottle and then mix together in the glass when you pour. This was a delicious drink and would be exceptional with dessert.
